Flex Kavana
1996
USWA Face
Finisher(s) Running Shoulderbreaker
His first ring name, used in the USWA in 1996 before the WWF signed him. A raw, athletic young babyface with no real character yet – essentially a rookie cutting his teeth in tag competition under a generic, island-flavored name. The run was about learning the fundamentals and ring presence he would carry into a fast-tracked national debut later that year.

Rocky Maivia
1996 – 1997
WWF Face
Finisher(s) Running Shoulderbreaker, Flying Crossbody
A relentlessly smiling, squeaky-clean babyface marketed hard as a third-generation “Blue Chipper”, the grateful grandson of Peter Maivia and son of Rocky Johnson. The wholesome, corporate-darling presentation was forced on fans until crowds revolted with “Rocky sucks” and “Die Rocky Die” chants. He won the Intercontinental Championship from Hunter Hearst Helmsley on February 13, 1997, but the rejection set up his reinvention.

The Rock (Nation of Domination)
1997 – 1998
WWF Heel
Finisher(s) Rock Bottom, Sharpshooter
The birth of “The Rock”, a cocky, brash heel who referred to himself in the third person, raised the People’s Eyebrow, and delivered electric, insult-laden mic work. Embracing the fans’ hatred, he joined the militant Nation of Domination and grew into its charismatic leader. He debuted the Rock Bottom and claimed a second Intercontinental Championship in December 1997, when Steve Austin forfeited the title to him.

Corporate Rock
1998 – 1999
WWF Heel
Finisher(s) Rock Bottom, Corporate Elbow
A smug, entitled company man, Mr. McMahon‘s hand-picked “Corporate Champion” who lorded his status over everyone and sneered at the roster to “know your role.” Cold and arrogant, he was the establishment villain of the Attitude Era. He won his first WWF Championship in the “Deadly Game” tournament at Survivor Series 1998 and feuded viciously with Mankind, adding a mocking Corporate Elbow to the Rock Bottom.

The Rock (The People's Champion)
1999 – 2002 | 2011 – 2013
Finisher(s) Rock Bottom, People's Elbow, Sharpshooter
The most electrifying man in sports entertainment, a charismatic, trash-talking fan favorite built on quotable catchphrases (“If you smell what The Rock is cookin'”) and showboating like the People’s Elbow and the People’s Eyebrow. Cocky but beloved, he blended swagger with elite mic work. A multi-time WWF/WWE Champion, he headlined against Steve Austin at WrestleMania X-Seven and Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania X8, later returning in 2011-2013 to face John Cena.

Hollywood Rock
2003 – 2004
WWE Heel
Finisher(s) Rock Bottom, People's Elbow, Sharpshooter
A smug, out-of-touch celebrity heel who flaunted his movie fame and mocked fans for booing a “Hollywood” star who had outgrown them. Dripping with arrogance, he strummed a guitar to serenade crowds with insulting songs. The sneering act sharpened his villainy while keeping the Rock Bottom and People’s Elbow. He beat Steve Austin at WrestleMania XIX in Austin’s final match and feuded with Goldberg.

“Final Boss” Rock
2024
WWE Heel
Finisher(s) Rock Bottom, People's Elbow, Sharpshooter
A darker, menacing corporate power-broker, calculating, profane, and intimidating in a way the character had never been. Turning heel for the first time in over 20 years, he aligned with Roman Reigns and The Bloodline as the ruthless “Final Boss,” taunting Cody Rhodes with deeply personal promos. He teamed with Reigns to beat Rhodes and Seth Rollins at WrestleMania XL Night 1.
