Legal Bases for Processing
For visitors in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Contract — operating your account and the community features you ask to use.
- Consent — non-essential cookies, analytics, and any advertising. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legitimate interests — keeping the site secure, preventing spam and abuse, and improving how the site works. We balance these against your rights and use the least amount of data that achieves the purpose.
- Legal obligation — where we’re required to retain or disclose information by law.
Public Information
Usernames, profile information, ratings, reviews, rankings, lists, comments, prediction results, and other community contributions may be visible to the public.
Users should not publish private addresses, telephone numbers, passwords, financial information, private communications, or another person’s personal information.
Removing an account may not automatically remove every reference to activity that was previously included in aggregated statistics, moderation records, backups, or legally required records.
How Information May Be Shared
Information may be shared with service providers that help operate the website, including providers of:
- Website hosting
- Account authentication
- Email delivery
- Contact forms
- Spam prevention and security
- Analytics
- Cookie consent tools
- Advertising
- Database maintenance and backups
- Embedded videos or media
These providers may process information only as permitted by their agreements and privacy practices.
Information may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to legal process, investigate abuse, enforce site rules, protect users, or protect Wrestling Profiles and its property.
If Wrestling Profiles is sold, reorganized, or transferred, information may be included in that transaction subject to applicable law.
International Transfers
The website is operated and hosted in the United States. If you access it from outside the U.S., your information is transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws differ from those in your country. Where personal data is transferred out of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses in our agreements with service providers.
Advertising
Wrestling Profiles may display advertisements supplied by Google or other advertising partners.
Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies or similar technologies to serve, personalize, and measure advertisements based on a visitor’s activity on Wrestling Profiles and other websites.
Visitors can manage advertising consent through the Cookie Preferences control when available. They may also manage personalized advertising through the advertising provider’s own settings.
The list of advertising providers should be maintained through the website’s consent-management system.
Data Retention
Information is retained for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the website, maintain accounts, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, comply with legal obligations, prevent abuse, and maintain accurate security and moderation records.
The retention period may depend on the type of information and the reason it was collected.
Privacy Choices
Depending on applicable law and the visitor’s location, a person may have the right to request:
- Access to personal information
- Correction of inaccurate personal information
- Deletion of personal information
- A copy of certain personal information
- Restriction of certain processing
- Withdrawal of consent
- Objection to certain processing
- An opt-out from certain advertising or data-sharing practices
Requests can be submitted through the Contact page by selecting Account or Privacy Request.
Wrestling Profiles may need to verify the requester’s identity before completing a request. We respond within 30 days, or within 45 days where a longer period is permitted by applicable state law, and we’ll tell you if we need the extra time.
You will never be denied service, charged a different price, or given a lower quality of service for exercising any of these rights.
If you’re in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom and believe we haven’t handled your personal data properly, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority. We’d appreciate the chance to address it first.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser. Cookies let the site remember that you’re signed in, which filters you picked, and which consent choices you made. This also covers browser local storage, which works the same way but keeps information on your device until you clear it.
Cookies are grouped into four categories, matching the labels you’ll see in the preferences panel:
- Functional — keep you signed in, secure forms, and remember your consent choices. The website can’t run without them, so they’re set without consent and can’t be switched off.
- Preferences — remember filter, sort, and view settings on the directory pages.
- Statistics — measure how the site is used in aggregate: which pages get visited, how visitors arrive, and where errors occur. We use Google Analytics.
- Marketing — not currently used. No advertising cookies are set.
Some third-party content, such as embedded video, only loads once you accept the category it belongs to. Until then you’ll see a placeholder with the option to load it.
Anything that isn’t essential is only set after you consent, and you can change that at any time.
Where a consent banner is shown, its preferences panel lists every cookie currently in use, with its purpose and how long it lasts, and lets you accept or reject each category. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and we treat a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal as a request to decline non-essential cookies. Blocking essential cookies will prevent you from signing in or posting.
Children’s Privacy
Wrestling Profiles is intended for a general audience and isn’t directed to children under 13.
A person must be at least 13 years old to create an account or use community features. Registration asks for a date of birth so this can be checked, and accounts that don’t meet the minimum age aren’t created. If Wrestling Profiles learns that personal information has been collected from a child under 13 without legally required permission, reasonable steps will be taken to delete it.
A parent or guardian who believes a child has submitted personal information should contact Wrestling Profiles.
Security
Wrestling Profiles uses reasonable administrative and technical measures intended to protect personal information. No website, storage system, or method of electronic transmission can guarantee complete security.
Users are responsible for protecting their account passwords and should notify Wrestling Profiles if they believe an account has been accessed without permission.
Third-Party Links
Wrestling Profiles links to websites that it doesn’t operate. Their collection and use of information are governed by their own policies.
Changes to This Policy
This policy may be updated when website features, service providers, or legal requirements change. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date, and we review it at least once every twelve months to confirm it still describes what the website actually does.
