Hollywood Hogan controlled much of the opening portion with punches, choking, and his weightlifting belt. After Randy Savage created an opening, he took the belt from Hogan and began using it against him.

As Savage gained momentum, he repeatedly drove Hogan into the cage. Hogan eventually answered by sending Savage into the steel several times, opening a cut on Savage’s head and slowing his comeback.

With both men using the cage and Hogan’s belt as weapons, Savage eventually regained control and drove Hogan into the steel again. Savage then climbed to the top of the cage and jumped back inside with a double axe handle.

After Savage covered Hogan, Hogan was able to kick out. Savage remained in control and prepared to continue his attack when The Disciple ran to ringside.

The Disciple attacked the officials outside the cage and then entered to help Hogan. With Savage facing both men, Sting descended from the rafters and entered the cage to even the sides.

Although Sting appeared to have come to Savage’s aid, Savage suddenly clotheslined him. Savage followed by hitting Sting with piledrivers before leaving the cage.

With the match having broken down after The Disciple’s interference and Savage’s attack on Sting, Hogan and Savage received no decision, and the steel cage match ended in a no contest.
