The Impact World Championship was the primary men’s singles title in Impact Wrestling from January 10, 2018, until January 13, 2024. It continued the championship history established by TNA in 2007 and replaced the Impact Global Championship name during Austin Aries’ second reign.
Aries was the first champion to carry the title under the Impact World Championship name. Other champions included Pentagón Jr., Johnny Impact, Brian Cage, Sami Callihan, Tessa Blanchard, Eddie Edwards, Eric Young, Rich Swann, Kenny Omega, Christian Cage, Josh Alexander, Moose, Steve Maclin, and Alex Shelley.
The Impact Grand Championship was absorbed into the title during Aries’ third world championship reign in 2018. The world title continued as the active championship, while the Grand Championship was retired.
Tessa Blanchard defeated Sami Callihan at Hard to Kill in January 2020, becoming the first woman to hold the championship. Her reign ended when Impact terminated her contract and vacated the title during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Another unification occurred in March 2021. Rich Swann defeated Moose, who held a separately sanctioned TNA World Heavyweight Championship, to combine both titles. The championship briefly used the Impact Unified World Championship name before returning to the Impact World Championship name three days later. Both physical belts represented the title until Christian Cage retired the older TNA belt in August 2021.
Kenny Omega and Christian Cage carried the championship onto All Elite Wrestling (AEW) programming, while Josh Alexander later completed the longest reign in the title’s history.
Alex Shelley held the championship when Impact Wrestling restored the TNA company name in January 2024. The title then became the TNA World Championship without restarting its lineage.
