Career Summary

Al Snow is an American professional wrestler, trainer, promoter, and wrestling executive best known for his work in Smoky Mountain Wrestling (SMW), Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW), the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA).

He began wrestling in the 1980s and worked under several names, including Steve Moore, Shinobi, Avatar, and Leif Cassidy, before finding his most recognizable identity as Al Snow, mostly remembered for his comedic timing, hardcore wrestling style, and legendary “Head” prop.

Snow first gained wider attention in Smoky Mountain Wrestling, where he teamed with Unabomb as The Dynamic Duo. He later joined the WWF in the mid-1990s, using masked and character-based roles before teaming with Marty Jannetty as The New Rockers.

His career changed in ECW, where he developed the “Head” character and became known for carrying a mannequin head to the ring. That act followed him back to the WWF during the Attitude Era and became the defining part of his national wrestling career.

In WWF/WWE, Snow won the Hardcore Championship, European Championship, and Tag Team Championship. He was also part of The J.O.B. Squad and later worked as a trainer on Tough Enough, helping introduce new wrestlers to a national audience. After leaving WWE, he continued wrestling and later worked for TNA as an agent, trainer, on-screen authority figure, and occasional wrestler.

Snow later became closely tied to Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW), where he took on leadership, training, and promotional roles. His career is remembered for its unusual character work, long in-ring run, and major influence as a trainer and wrestling teacher.
