The Undertaker vs Mankind | In Your House 11: Buried Alive

The Undertaker and Mankind met in the first Buried Alive Match at In Your House 11, where the only way to win was to throw the other man into an open grave and shovel dirt onto him. It was presented as an attempt to settle the rivalry between the two after Paul Bearer turned on The Undertaker and sided with Mankind, and it continued their run of first-time stipulation matches.

They fought back and forth between the ring and the graveyard set near the entrance, using steel chairs, ring steps, and shovels. Late in the match, The Undertaker hit Mankind with a Tombstone Piledriver and carried him to the grave, but Mankind stopped him with the Mandible Claw.

Mankind then turned to Paul Bearer for the urn, but before he could use it, The Undertaker recovered and chokeslammed him into the grave. Once Undertaker began shoveling dirt onto him, the official called for the bell.

After the bell, The Executioner attacked The Undertaker from behind with a shovel. He and Mankind threw Undertaker into the grave, and they were joined by Hunter Hearst Helmsley, Justin Hawk Bradshaw, Goldust, and Crush, who helped bury him. Thunder then rolled through the arena, lightning struck near the grave, and Undertaker’s hand rose out of the dirt as the show went off the air.
