Mankind vs. The Rock at In Your House 27: St. Valentine’s Day Massacre was a brutal Last Man Standing match fought with the WWF Championship on the line. The two rivals turned the match into a wild brawl filled with chair shots, table spots, and constant fighting around ringside and the entrance area.
Neither man could keep the other down for good. After a violent closing exchange where both hit each other with steel chairs at the same time, both men stayed down for the ten-count. The result was a draw, which meant Mankind left the event still holding the WWF Championship.
Austin dominated McMahon throughout, repeatedly brutalizing him around the arena before the bell even officially rang. McMahon defiantly gave Austin the double middle finger multiple times, drawing Austin back in every time he was close to escaping. After Austin hit the Stunner, Paul Wight (Big Show) made his WWF debut by tearing through the ring canvas.
Wight helped McMahon to his feet and threw Austin into the cage walls, but launched him with so much force that the cage panel broke entirely open. Austin held on and dropped to the floor to win, with Wight’s interference ironically securing Austin’s victory rather than costing him it.
