- Baron von Raschke (2)
- Roddy Piper (2)

The NWA Television Championship was a title used by Jim Crockett Promotions from 1978 to 1985. It continued the history of the NWA Mid-Atlantic Television Championship, which was introduced in 1974, before receiving its new name in March 1978.
The change came during Baron von Raschke’s reign, when Jim Crockett Promotions announced a tournament featuring television champions from other National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) territories. Von Raschke was declared the winner of the fictional tournament and became the first champion under the NWA Television name. Despite the broader designation, the championship continued to be defended primarily on Jim Crockett Promotions television programs and live events throughout the Mid-Atlantic territory.
During the early 1980s, several vacancies led to tournaments to determine new champions, including one in November 1980 that Roddy Piper won by defeating Paul Jones. Piper relinquished the championship in January 1981 after winning the NWA United States Heavyweight Championship.
An unusual vacancy followed Starrcade on November 24, 1983, when Jimmy Valiant defeated The Great Kabuki while wrestling under his masked Charlie Brown identity. Valiant relinquished the championship in January 1984 after dropping the Charlie Brown character, and another tournament was held to determine a new champion. Mark Youngblood defeated Dick Slater in the final that March before losing the title to Tully Blanchard.
Blanchard held the championship for nearly a year before Dusty Rhodes defeated him on March 16, 1985, in Greensboro, North Carolina. During Rhodes’ reign, Jim Crockett Promotions elevated the title to the NWA World Television Championship, ending its use of the NWA Television Championship name.
