Jack Perry

Jack Perry is a second‑generation American professional wrestler who emerged from the California independents to become one of AEW’s most recognizable young stars. Early in his career he wrestled as Nate Coy, winning the 2016 West Coast Cruiser Cup in Underground Empire Wrestling and later capturing the APW Junior Heavyweight Championship.

The “Jungle Boy” moniker, initially a crowd chant referencing his Tarzan‑like look, evolved into a full character complete with leopard‑print gear and Baltimora’s “Tarzan Boy” entrance theme.

Signing with AEW in early 2019, Perry quickly became a cornerstone of the promotion’s homegrown talent, teaming with Luchasaurus (and at times Marko Stunt) as Jurassic Express. The team captured the AEW World Tag Team Championship in January 2022, holding the belts for 161 days and working feature programs with teams like The Young Bucks and reDRagon.

As a singles wrestler, he won the 2021 Casino Battle Royale, challenged for the AEW World Championship, and feuded intensely with Christian Cage and Luchasaurus, culminating in a Final Burial victory over Cage.​

In mid‑2023, Perry turned heel by attacking Hook and dropping the Jungle Boy persona, taking the FTW Championship and later aligning with The Elite under a darker “Scapegoat” identity. He briefly shifted to Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5 for his entrance before adopting the custom “SCAPEGOAT” theme, and he added the Glass Jaw knee strike to his established Snare Trap submission finisher.

Perry expanded his resume in NJPW, joining House of Torture, entering the New Japan Cup, and later challenging for the IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship. Returning as “Jungle” Jack Perry in 2025 and reuniting with Luchasaurus, he remains positioned as a central babyface for AEW’s modern era.
