Adam Joseph Scherr, better known to WWE audiences as Braun Strowman, rose from strongman competitions to become one of the defining “monster” big men of the 2010s and early 2020s in mainstream wrestling.
After signing with WWE in 2013, he trained at the Performance Center and worked through the company’s developmental system. He arrived on the main roster in August 2015 as the silent enforcer of Bray Wyatt’s Wyatt Family, standing out right away for his sheer size, intimidation, and sudden bursts of power.
Once he split from the group, Strowman turned into a featured singles attraction on Raw. He often headlined episodes and premium live events in chaotic stipulation matches and multi-man brawls built around spectacle, broken tables, and moments of destruction that played into his strength.
His “Get these hands!” catchphrase, heavy-hitting style, and near-invincible aura helped him connect with crowds, and he moved into a monster babyface role while mowing through top names.
His WWE run included a WWE Universal Championship reign, an Intercontinental Championship run, and two Raw Tag Team Championship reigns. He also won the 2018 Men’s Royal Rumble, Money in the Bank, and the André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, giving him one of the most decorated resumes of his era among heavyweight stars.
After his release in 2021, he appeared in ROH and helped launch the Control Your Narrative (CYN) promotion before returning to WWE in 2022 for another stretch. A torn groin in 2024 slowed his momentum, and after his 2025 release, he shifted more attention to television projects while still leaving open the possibility of a future in-ring return.
