Debra, born Debra Gale Marshall, was a manager, valet, occasional wrestler, and on-screen authority figure best known for her work in w and the WWF during the late 1990s and early 2000s. She began in WCW in October 1995 and became part of Steve McMichael’s presentation, first as a supportive valet and later as the pageant-themed Queen Debra character. During that run, she was tied to the Four Horsemen orbit after McMichael’s turn at The Great American Bash 1996.
She joined the WWF in 1998, first as Debra McMichael and then simply Debra, where she became strongly associated with Jeff Jarrett and later Owen Hart. Her WWF act leaned heavily on distraction spots and managerial interference, which made her a visible part of Jarrett’s presentation during the Attitude Era.
In 1999, she had a short in-ring run and won the WWF Women’s Championship from Sable on the May 10, 1999 episode of Raw Is War. Her reign lasted 29 days before she lost the title to Ivory.
After her brief in-ring stretch, Debra returned mostly to non-wrestling roles. She later appeared as Lieutenant Commissioner in WWF storylines and was also used as an on-screen manager during the Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock feud.
Her last official match took place at Survivor Series 1999, and her wrestling career is generally listed as ending in 2002. She was named PWI Manager of the Year in 1999 and was inducted into the Women’s Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2025.
