Je’Von Evans has quickly emerged as one of the most exciting young high-flyers in modern wrestling. He’s known for fearless dives, smooth footwork, and crisp strikes that feel far beyond his years.
Growing up in North Carolina, he started training as a teenager under LaBron Kozone, debuting in 2018 at just 13 under the name Kid Blacka Merica, before later adopting the ring name Jay Malachi on the indie circuit.
He built his name across the Carolinas with strong showings in Fire Star Pro Wrestling (FSPW), Premier Wrestling Federation (PWF), and Deadlock Pro Wrestling (DPW), winning the DPW Worlds Championship, the FSPW Heavyweight and South Eastern Championships, and multiple tag belts alongside Jackson Drake.
A brief appearance on AEW Dark in 2022 gave him his first national spotlight, and in late 2023, he signed with WWE, reporting to NXT and adopting the Je’Von Evans name.
He made his televised NXT debut in 2024 and was quickly treated as a featured prospect, sharing the ring with Ilja Dragunov, entering multi-man title matches, and headlining major episodes and specials.
As WWE began working with TNA and AAA, Evans quickly became one of the main young faces of those partnerships, teaming with TNA X Division Champion Leon Slater at NXT Halloween Havoc 2025 in a featured win over AAA’s Mr. Iguana and La Parka.
He has already picked up honors such as Wrestling Observer’s Rookie of the Year and a strong ranking in the PWI 500, marking him as an important part of WWE’s future while his name continues to grow around the world.
