Diamond Dallas Page is a retired American professional wrestler best known for his run in WCW and his time in WWE. He first worked in wrestling as a manager before becoming a full-time in-ring performer and later developing into one of WCW’s top stars during the 1990s.
Page made his name in WCW through his Diamond Dallas Page character, his Diamond Cutter finishing move, and his rise during the Monday Nitro era. He feuded with major names like Randy Savage, Curt Hennig, Raven, Goldberg, and members of the New World Order, while also becoming known as The Original People’s Champion.
His WCW run included reigns as WCW World Heavyweight Champion, WCW United States Heavyweight Champion, WCW World Television Champion, and WCW World Tag Team Champion.
After WCW was purchased by WWE, Page joined the WWE roster during the Invasion storyline. His WWE run was shorter than his WCW career, but he added the European Championship and WWF Tag Team Championship to his list of accomplishments.
A serious neck injury led him to retire in June 2002, although he later returned to the ring for UPW and TNA. He made another WWE appearance as a surprise entrant in the 2015 Royal Rumble before wrestling his final match for AEW in January 2020.
DDP wrestled with power and confidence while maintaining a strong connection with the crowd. The Diamond Cutter became his signature move, and he used it in different ways, including as a counter, reversal, or sudden finish.
After retiring from full-time wrestling, Page became best known for DDP Yoga, a fitness program he developed after using yoga-based training to recover from a serious back injury. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2017, and his post-wrestling career has focused on fitness, public speaking, media appearances, and helping former wrestlers improve their health.
