Tomohiro Ishii

Tomohiro Ishii is a Japanese professional wrestler best known for his physical, hard-hitting style, compact build, and reputation as one of New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s most consistent match-quality wrestlers. He debuted in 1996 for Wrestle Association R and later worked as a freelancer for promotions like Toryumon Japan, World Entertainment Wrestling, Riki Pro, and Pro Wrestling Zero1-Max. Early in his career, he was used as a junior heavyweight, but he shifted into the heavyweight division by the mid-2000s.

Ishii became a regular NJPW wrestler in 2006. He first joined Great Bash Heel, then became part of CHAOS in 2009 after the group split from Togi Makabe. For years, he worked mostly underneath NJPW’s top title scene, but his reputation grew through intense singles matches in the G1 Climax, the NEVER Openweight division, and major stable rivalries. His first NEVER Openweight Championship win came in 2014, and he eventually became a six-time champion.

Outside NJPW, Ishii also appeared for CMLL, ROH, RevPro, Impact, AEW, NOAH, and several independent events. He won the ROH World Television Championship, the RevPro British Heavyweight Championship, the IWGP Tag Team Championship, the NEVER Openweight Six-Man Tag Team Championship, and the NJPW STRONG Openweight Championship. In AEW, he became associated with The Conglomeration.
