World Xtreme Wrestling (WXW) was founded in 1996 by WWE Hall of Famer Afa Anoa’i and was closely tied to the Wild Samoan Pro Wrestling Training Center. The promotion operated in both Florida and Pennsylvania, while also running shows internationally in places like Japan, the Middle East, Guam, and American Samoa. WXW helped launch the careers of notable wrestlers such as Batista, Chris Kanyon, Billy Kidman, and Umaga. Known for its strong Samoan wrestling heritage, the promotion remained active for nearly three decades before leadership transitioned from Afa Anoa’i to his son, Afa Jr., in 2024. Throughout its run, WXW was both a place for developing talent and a promotion with its own dedicated fan base across multiple regions.
