About

The Kingdom first formed in Ring of Honor (ROH) in 2014, with the original lineup featuring Matt Hardy, Adam Cole, Mike Bennett, and Maria Kanellis. Hardy’s run in the group was short-lived, as his ROH contract expired later that year, but during that time, The Kingdom made an immediate impact.

Soon after, Matt Taven joined, teaming with Bennett to anchor the faction. The group went on to capture the ROH World Tag Team Championship and even the IWGP Tag Team Championship in New Japan Pro Wrestling, showcasing themselves as a force across promotions.

As the lineup evolved, Taven took over leadership and expanded the stable by bringing in T. K. O’Ryan and Vinny Marseglia. This version of The Kingdom became the first-ever ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champions, a title they would win multiple times.

By 2019, however, tensions within the group boiled over, most notably when Marseglia turned on Taven, and the stable splintered. The Kingdom resurfaced in 2020 when Bennett returned to ROH and reunited with Taven under the name The OGK (Original Kingdom).

Together, they regained the ROH World Tag Team Championship and expanded their success by moving into Impact Wrestling, where they also won the Impact World Tag Team Championship in 2022. That same year, Taven, Bennett, and Maria made their way to AEW, reintroducing The Kingdom on a new stage.

In 2023, the group grew again when they teamed up with Adam Cole and others to form The Undisputed Kingdom, which includes Roderick Strong and Wardlow. Although some members dealt with injuries and time away, the faction still combines the history of ROH with their current presence in AEW, with Taven and Bennett as the main members.
