WWE NXT UK

NXT UK was WWE’s United Kingdom-based developmental brand division and weekly streaming program. WWE announced the NXT UK brand during the 2018 United Kingdom Championship Tournament at Royal Albert Hall, after the earlier WWE United Kingdom Championship project had created a foothold for UK and Ireland talent.

The first NXT UK television tapings were held in Cambridge in July 2018, and the weekly show debuted on October 17, 2018. The brand gave WWE a dedicated UK and European roster with its own weekly program, championships, and WWE Network specials.

It used the NXT developmental structure while keeping a separate identity tied to British wrestling venues, UK-based talent, and European prospects. Its major titles included the NXT United Kingdom Championship, NXT UK Women’s Championship, NXT UK Tag Team Championship, and the NXT UK Heritage Cup.

NXT UK’s biggest event series was NXT UK TakeOver, with Blackpool, Cardiff, and Blackpool II serving as its main specials before the COVID-19 shutdown stopped planned expansion. WWE later announced that NXT UK would be replaced by NXT Europe. The final NXT UK episode aired on September 1, 2022, and the brand’s remaining title lineages were addressed at Worlds Collide on September 4, 2022.
