Jay White

Jay White is a sharp-talking, slow-burning villain who turned calculation into a wrestling style. Born in Auckland, New Zealand in 1992, he left home young to chase wrestling in the UK, trained under The UK Kid and later in the New Japan Dojo, where he learned the patient, counter-heavy approach that defines his matches.

He first broke through in New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) as a clean-cut Young Lion, then came back from excursion as “Switchblade”, a colder, more dangerous version of himself. From there, he climbed up the card fast.

He beat Kenny Omega for the IWGP United States title, later added the Intercontinental and NEVER Openweight belts, and eventually captured both the IWGP Heavyweight Championship and the newer IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. That run made him New Japan’s first official Grand Slam champion, and he did it while leading Bullet Club, directing run-ins and betrayals rather than just reacting to them.

In the ring, White wrestles like a trap waiting to be sprung. He stalls, bails to the floor, and talks to the crowd, then snaps into sudden offense with chops, dragon screws, and his Blade Runner finish that can come out of almost any reversal. On the microphone, he leans into that same control, picking apart opponents and crowds with measured, bitter promos instead of shouting.

After losing a “Loser Leaves New Japan” match in 2023, White moved to All Elite Wrestling (AEW), aligned with Juice Robinson, and launched Bullet Club Gold, later rebranded as The Bang Bang Gang.

In AEW, he has headlined pay-per-views, held unified trios gold, and shifted from smug heel to more of a tweener as injuries forced him to the sidelines in 2025.

Even when he is not on TV, people still talk about him like a future world champion, a wrestler who carries himself like he already knows the match is his and is just waiting for everyone else to catch up.
