Career Summary

Allyssa “Lacey” Lane broke into wrestling after a successful college basketball career, bringing quickness and athleticism that translated well between the ropes. She first made her name on Florida independents and in Mexico’s The Crash Lucha Libre, where the blend of American and lucha styles helped her sharpen an up‑tempo, high‑spot offense.

Signing with WWE and entering NXT, she was repackaged as Kayden Carter, emphasizing her Filipino and Jamaican heritage and positioning her as an underdog babyface.

Carter’s career took off when she teamed with Kacy Catanzaro, later Katana Chance. Their tandem mixed Carter’s crisp striking and bumping with Chance’s aerial creativity, quickly making them a staple of the NXT women’s tag division.

They captured the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship in August 2022 and held the belts for a record 186 days, defending against teams from both NXT and the main roster.

Drafted to Raw in 2023, Carter and Chance went on to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship, making them the first women’s team to hold both the NXT and WWE women’s tag titles. After a 39-day title reign on the main roster, they eventually lost the championships and were released from WWE in 2025 during a larger roster cut.

Since then, Lane has returned to wrestling under her original name, Lacey Lane, on the independent circuit and in Ring of Honor (ROH), where her accomplishments as a champion add to her reputation and open up new opportunities for her career.
