Kacy Esther Catanzaro transitioned from elite gymnastics and American Ninja Warrior fame to professional wrestling, signing with WWE in 2017 and reporting to the Performance Center in early 2018. She debuted for NXT that April and quickly turned heads with her innovative rope work and acrobatics, often using the same body control that had made her a viral obstacle‑course star.
Her early NXT tenure was full of spectacular highlight reel work, but didn’t involve many sustained pushes. However, she was able to build a following as an underdog babyface.
Rebranded as Katana Chance, she formed a long‑term tag team with Kayden Carter, and the duo became the backbone of NXT’s women’s tag division. They captured the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship in August 2022 and held it for 186 days, a record reign length that outlasted more heavily hyped teams.
After successful defenses, they dropped the belts in early 2023 before being promoted to Raw, later moving between Raw and SmackDown.
On the main roster, Chance and Carter won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship, becoming the first team to hold both WWE and NXT Women’s Tag Team titles. Their fast‑paced, double‑team offense made them a staple of televised tag matches until they lost the belts to Damage CTRL’s Kabuki Warriors in January 2024.
In 2025, WWE released both Chance and Carter (now Lacey Lane), and Catanzaro has since become a free agent, exploring opportunities outside the company, leaning on her crossover name recognition and unique athletic style.
