Joe Hendry

Joe Hendry is a Scottish pro wrestler known for his sing-along entrances, self-made music videos, and a power-based style built around crisp throws and big slams. He is a former TNA World Champion and a former TNA Digital Media Champion, and in recent years, he has also appeared in WWE, competing on NXT.

Hendry was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, and he came up through the Scottish scene after training at Source Wrestling. He made his pro debut on October 12, 2013, for Scottish Wrestling Alliance, entering a No. 1 contenders battle royal won by Joe Coffey.

Soon after that, he worked regularly in Insane Championship Wrestling (ICW), where he shifted between cocky talker and hometown favorite, and he later held the ICW Tag Team Championship with Davey Boy as The Local Fire.

By the mid-to-late 2010s, Hendry expanded across the UK and beyond, including runs with WCPW and Ring of Honor (ROH), where he teamed with Dalton Castle. In 2018, he debuted for Impact Wrestling, and he returned in 2022, winning the Digital Media Championship by defeating Brian Myers. In January 2025, he won the TNA World Championship by defeating Nic Nemeth at Genesis.

Hendry’s act leans into the music. He often walks out to a song built around his name, and the crowd sings along with him. He has also made funny entrance videos that call out his rivals. In the ring, he relies on brawling, throws, and suplexes, and his best-known finishers include the Standing Ovation and the Freak of Nature. Today, he works with WWE on NXT, while his recent run in TNA remains a big part of his profile.
