About
The Judgment Day is a wrestling stable in the WWE known for its dark style, shifting leadership, and complex internal dynamics. The group debuted at WrestleMania 38 in April 2022, when Edge introduced Damian Priest as his first recruit.
Rhea Ripley joined shortly after, forming a powerful trio that mixed supernatural themes with classic heel tactics like interference, intimidation, and psychological mind games. Their eerie presentation and haunting atmosphere made the group quickly stand out on Raw.
The faction took a major turn when Finn Bálor joined later that year and led a coup to remove Edge from his own creation. Under Bálor’s influence, the group dropped its mystical tone and embraced a ruthless, numbers-based mentality. Bálor, Priest, and Ripley declared that no one would be the leader, setting up a philosophy where loyalty shifted depending on who held the power.
That idea played out immediately when Dominik Mysterio joined after betraying his father, Rey Mysterio, in one of the most talked-about storylines of 2022. His heel turn gave the faction a new edge and helped establish them as one of WWE’s most despised groups.
From 2023 onward, The Judgment Day kept shifting. JD McDonagh first appeared as an ally, then officially joined and became one of Finn Bálor’s regular tag partners. His arrival tightened the group’s in-ring chemistry and gave Bálor a steady teammate during major feuds. Through the rest of 2023, the faction stayed near the main event, using mind games, outside interference, and numbers to keep an edge.
By early 2024, cracks started to show. Rhea Ripley stepped away from television, which left a gap inside the group. During that stretch, Liv Morgan entered the picture, and her connection with Dominik Mysterio created new tension.
Their flirtation turned into betrayal when Dominik “accidentally” helped Morgan win and retain the Women’s World Championship. Morgan then began supporting the faction, helping Bálor and JD McDonagh capture the World Tag Team Championship from The Miz and R-Truth. The situation boiled over when Ripley returned, catching Dominik and Morgan together in the ring.
The confrontation led to one of WWE’s biggest moments of the year. At SummerSlam 2024, Ripley failed to reclaim her title from Morgan after interference from Dominik, who kissed Morgan and left the arena with her. On the same show, Damian Priest lost the World Heavyweight Championship to Gunther after Bálor got involved.
The following night on Raw, Ripley and Priest were officially expelled from The Judgment Day and replaced by Carlito and Morgan. Soon after, Raquel Rodriguez joined after helping Morgan retain her championship at Bad Blood, creating a new chapter for the faction.
Morgan later won the inaugural WWE Women’s Crown Jewel Championship with help from Dominik and Rodriguez, keeping the group strong throughout the end of 2024 despite losses at Survivor Series and the team of Bálor and McDonagh dropping the tag titles in December.
The faction entered 2025 with both success and setbacks. McDonagh suffered serious injuries in January but returned later in the year, while Morgan and Rodriguez made history in February by winning the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship, making The Judgment Day the first group in WWE to hold both men’s and women’s tag titles.
At WrestleMania 41, Dominik Mysterio captured the Intercontinental Championship by pinning Bálor in a fatal four-way match, sparking new tension between the two. That same week, Morgan and Rodriguez briefly lost their titles before regaining them in a rematch on Raw. Around this time, Bálor began bringing in Roxanne Perez as an associate, signaling another power shift within the group.
By mid-2025, the lineup changed once again. Carlito departed WWE in June after returning to Puerto Rico and winning the WWC Puerto Rico Heavyweight Championship. That same month, Morgan dislocated her shoulder in a match against Kairi Sane, forcing her to step away.
Perez officially replaced her, and on June 30, she helped keep the faction’s gold streak alive when Bálor and McDonagh regained the World Tag Team Championship from The New Day. Perez and Rodriguez defended their women’s tag titles successfully at Evolution but lost them to Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss at SummerSlam after a 33-day reign.
The Judgment Day also crossed international boundaries that year. Following WWE’s acquisition of Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide, the faction appeared at both Triplemanía XXXIII and Worlds Collide: Las Vegas.
At the latter event, on September 12, Dominik Mysterio defeated El Hijo del Vikingo to win the AAA Mega Championship, becoming the first wrestler to hold championships in both WWE and AAA at the same time. By late 2025, the group’s core consisted of Finn Bálor, Dominik Mysterio, JD McDonagh, Raquel Rodriguez, Liv Morgan, and Roxanne Perez.
What began as a gothic, Edge-led concept had evolved into a calculating and unpredictable alliance built on strategy, manipulation, and control. With constant betrayals, championship wins, and power shifts, The Judgment Day became one of WWE’s most adaptable and influential stables of the modern era, thriving on chaos and proving that in their world, no alliance lasts forever.
