Shayna Baszler

Shayna Baszler, a native of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, established her wrestling persona by emphasizing real combat sports and a submission-focused style. She made her debut in All Pro Wrestling in September 2015 and also participated in various independent promotions that same year, including Elite Canadian Championship Wrestling (ECCW) and Stardom. Her approach to wrestling was submission-first, and it became the foundation for everything she did once she reached WWE.

Her biggest run came in WWE, first in NXT and then on the main roster. Baszler became a main figure in NXT’s women’s division and won the NXT Women’s Championship twice, with long reigns that established her as a controlling, pressure-based champion who hunted submissions and ended matches with a choke or joint lock.

When she was called up to the main roster, she continued as a dangerous submission specialist on Raw and SmackDown and found success in tag team wrestling, most notably winning the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship with Nia Jax and later with Ronda Rousey.

After WWE released her on May 2, 2025, she stayed active on the independent circuit and began taking higher-profile bookings again, including events like Bloodsport-style shows and major indie cards. She also won the BRCW Women’s Title on November 2, 2025, showing she is still working regularly and remains a threat built around the Kirifuda Clutch.
