The Opps is a wrestling stable that formed in AEW in 2025 around Samoa Joe, Katsuyori Shibata, and Hook. The three had already worked together before the name was introduced, including a 2024 program against Chris Jericho and The Learning Tree.
Powerhouse Hobbs joined the group in April 2025, and Joe, Shibata, and Hobbs defeated the Death Riders to win the AEW World Trios Championship.
The group turned heel later in 2025 after Joe and Shibata attacked “Hangman” Adam Page at WrestleDream. Hook, who had separated from the group, returned at Full Gear and helped Joe defeat Page for the AEW World Championship. Hobbs left AEW in January 2026 after the group lost the World Trios Championship and signed with WWE.
Hook took control while Joe was sidelined with an injury early in 2026. Joe returned in April and approved Anthony Bowens as the group’s newest member, but stepped away again in May for filming commitments and placed Hook back in charge.
Action Andretti joined in August after The Opps helped him defeat Lio Rush for the ROH World Television Championship. Andretti then wrestled alongside Hook, Shibata, and Bowens at AEW All In: London on August 30, 2026.
